This year my group and i went to Beyond Pix Studios in San Francisco. It was a really nice trip from the beginning until the end. We got there at around 10 and the first thing they showed us was one of their studios. It was really nice in there, they had a big green screen, they had a make up room, a sound room, and a filming place where they recorded cooking shows. They showed us their kitchen where the real food was cooked for the cooking shows. They also showed us a lot of lighting that they had next to the kitchen area. After that they took us to their broadcasting room, they taught us how people would go in there to get interviewed by channels. They let us see what its like being broadcasted with a background image on the screen. They talked to us about college, one of the people there said college wasn’t really necessary. They talked about how its important to be flexible and adaptable. They talked about how you could enter as an intern and you could gain a position in the company. Our hosts name was Laura, but it wasn’t just her. There was this guy named Sean that was with us the whole time too. They took us to a little theatre room they had and they showed us movie clips and commercial videos they have made. They were very interesting. They taught us a lot about production and the different roles and jobs they get assigned. They taught us about lighting and they even offered to come to mount and teach us about lightning here. It was a very interesting trip and we learned a lot about production. I would like to visit them again and i cant wait until they come here to show us about lighting.
